The Way.....of Chopsticks

Life of Pie
well-inked update 10/18/2013

This...is not a bathroom.  Hahahahahaha.  Surprise!!!!!

The real bathroom was inside, off to the side.  There was also a coordinating "women's bathroom."

Soooo at the Philadelphia Art Alliance, they have this really cool exhibit called The Way of Chopsticks.  It was created by 2 Chinese artists, separately, but together....you might as well read this if you want a real explanation of their really cool concept.  I actually recommend reading that first, otherwise these pictures might not make sense....

These are "hypothetical cross-sections" of a pair of chopsticks!

And then this is another pair of really huge chopsticks!  This piece was called Authority: the red one mimics the feel of a cross beam from the entrance of an important building.
The gold leaf on the other has many holes in it, with a bunch of governmental buildings from around the world, as well as normal houses and dwelling-places popping out from the holes.  Pretty sure all those tiny buildings are handmade.

It's a....table?  One of those small furniture things.  For each piece of furniture, the husband would use windows to finish his half, and the wife would use stockings.

This was the main feature of the "men's bathroom."  Yes, that is a paper towel.
Did you see the Mona Lisa?!?!  Maybe I'll post that piece later.

Overall, it was a very interesting exhibit that I felt tied together a lot of their past, present progress, and their hopes for the future.  And they did it really well.  Plus the idea that it was like a pair of chopsticks was pretty cool.  AND IT ONLY COST ME $3 so I was really excited about that too.

I'm sorry if anything's blurry....no flash was allowed (duh) plus I don't have a smartphone.  Speaking of cameras, while I was outside eating, I was by the really famous LOVE statue, and all the people who took pictures either had a smartphone or one of those DSLR cameras or whatever they're called because I just have an old digital camera.  Actually all of my "gadgets" are pretty old....like, 3 years.  At least. Haha.

Hope you enjoyyy and have a great weekend, friends!!!!!
