well-inked update 10/12/2013
SHE'S SO OLD. You can't really tell in the picture, but you would definitely expect her in a nursing home or something.
I was in a marketplace, and I was like, oh, food + space to sit down = yay! It just so happened this charming old lady was serenading us all with her piano playing.
So, as a pianist myself, I was like, she's not bad. I don't think I could play some of those pieces without practicing for years, and some she just whipped out from memory, like Debussy's Clair de Lune and that Fantasie Impromptu thingy by Chopin. My brain went "WHOA!" but then my musical self cried a little bit for her because some of the finer timing was off, but I could also see her hands were kiiinda shaky. T~T
here is where I'm supposed to insert the "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY" meme. Except I'm not buying anything. JUST APPRECIATING THE (somewhat) LOST ART OF CLASSICAL MUSIC.
On another, sadder note, my friend's grandpa passed away earlier today. Just so you know, friend, I love you and your entire family tons and tons and tons and I hope I get to see you tomorrow!! :(
