Update 07/26/13
So remember how we told you about the "hush hush" new project? Well, the wait is finally over! One of our guest artists from the past (and also another member of our household...cough, yes, we all live at the same place) is officially joining NAD-Life!
As you remember, Ambrosia Lake is currently studying art, and is currently building up a portfolio. Thus, The Filing Cabinet was born: a place to file pieces of arts that's in Ambrosia Lake's portfolio, as well as the process and progress of her artistic creativity.
Ok, now I'm (Cuckoo Clock) done talking, and I'll let Ambrosia Lake tell you more about herself!
~~~~~~~~~~
Hey everyone, I am Ambrosia Lake and I am officially joining NAD-Life now. Some of you might have seen some of my work when I filled in for Culturally Bewildered while she was away.
I am currently an art major and I plan to declare zoology as my second major this fall. This means I will be posting a lot of past and current assignments and a fair amount of animal and nature related work which is the reason for the name, "The Filing Cabinet." *cue dramatic music*
Moving on ... This piece was a color assignment for my second drawing class. We focused on framing a still-life to create a good composition and on using thin glazes of acrylic paint to match colors and shades. I had used acrylics before this, but I was new to using transparent glazes so it was a lot of fun as well as a challenging. By the way, to any new art students out there, if you are working on a still-life over a couple of days, it helps to mark where you placed your chair and easel right of the bat, or take a picture of any parts (like cloth) that could be bumped or moved.
I am looking forward to posting more on the site. Any feed back, questions, or things you would like to see more: feel free to comment below because I would love to hear from you.
