Welcome to the more Saturday sketches from my sketchbook...and one from my computer! Ahaha! I hope you all are having a good weekend so far...I've been painting on the side these days and one of my friends, Bubbles, gave me permission to paint his giant cardboard sculpture so Inky and I have been covering it with painted pandas and Studio Ghibli characters.
But! Back on topic --> the sketches for this week:
"Chibi Practice"
Ink and Paper
It's been a while since I've done chibi practice and I was reading this manga Hiyokoi which has the cutest chibis. I had to practice some so I did a little study of the Hiyokoi 4-panel gags.
"Chair Study at Ikea"
Ink and Paper
My family went to Ikea for absolutely no reason...we didn't really want to buy any furniture so I just ended up doing a chair study. Backgrounding and furniture will be the death of me so I guess practice is always good. FYI...Ikea .83 cent bottomless coffee is delicious. Ahaha. *I feel asleep in Ikea, don't judge the beds are so comfy*
"5-Toed Sloth"
Graphic Tablet
Sunny Thousand told me to draw a five toed sloth...so this is the result. When I thought five-toed sloth...I literally thought of a sloth with hands. It's so creepy ahaha, I wonder sometimes what goes through my mind.
Speaking of which...I just watched the series finale of "Chowder"...that one cartoon about cooking. It was actually quite sentimental, gotta commend cartoon writers these days, they really have to put in a lot of effort...though I'm not sure about Adventure Time. 90% of the time I feel like the writers are just scripting while high...and then the last 10% is pure genius.
Anyway, back to geeking out by myself and painting!
Much love,
Culturally!
